Structure from nature 5

Linocut – In this series, I pay homage to the structures of the trees. The forest surrounding the house is a source of inspiration.

Linocut No. 5 from the series Structures from Nature was created in my new studio in Malexander. In the graphic studio, there is a graphic press that enables me to print. The print run of this print is 30 prints on fine paper from the Italian company Fabriano. I can divide my work as a graphic designer into two stages: conceptual and printing. In the first stage, I work intuitively; it is a search for the right expression, forms and composition. I cut them out with a sharp chisel blade in a matrix. The search for form is a process. Many proofs are made before the final print, after which the matrix is corrected. In the second stage, I work as a printmaker.
