Happy women

Happy women are beautiful. Or to put it another way – beautiful women are happy. We always associate beauty with something good. And happiness is the highest manifestation of goodness. At least, that’s what we think, or believe. There is something fascinating about the pursuit of happiness. Moments of happiness are short-lived if they happen to us. And we accept it. Even more, we know that true happiness is unattainable. And yet images of beautiful, cheerful women emerge. They are shown in many different ways. Women are dressed in beautiful elegant clothes, standing in elaborate poses. They also advertise the accessories that made them beautiful. In my collage, I have crowded the smiling women in a circle, where the intensity of the happiness and smiles might suggest that this could be a happy birthday image. Or is it a closed circle in which these women have to play their roles and from which there is no way out? If so, the question arises as to who might have locked them in this enchanted circle – an outsider or themselves? Life is full of unclear situations. Even when it comes to such a clear-cut thing – like simply being happy.
