The title of the drawing is – Love. This is a love word drawing – a brave attempt to illustrate what is written in just four letters. You could say that the title is banal. I can agree with that. I don’t think there is a more banal word than this word. It is a word that is repeated by many people, on many occasions. There is something in it, something that makes us repeat and recall it again and again. That something – is our desire to experience this feeling. It is said that experiencing this feeling gives a sense of fullness in life. We also desire for our love to be reciprocated, for us to be loved. For the other person to find the object of fascination in me. It seems complicated. Maybe even impossible? Fortunately, this phenomenon is not rational, it is independent of reason. It appears unexpectedly. In moments of mutual closeness, lovers are transported to another world, another planet of their own. Each time, this journey is unique, unlike that of other couples. There are no identical loves, each is different. One can try to draw or paint them. Endless series of paintings would be created. For now, there is one drawing – about love.
The word love is sometimes the central motif of a work of art. It is worth mentioning here the famous Love sculpture by the American artist Robert Indiana. The word love drawing has not yet gained such fame as this sculpture located in the Love Park in Philadelphia in front of the Art Museum. But words are present in works of art in many techniques. A series of works full of words and letters has appeared in my art – Headlines.
